Coffee Arabica, scientifically known as Coffea arabica, is a species of flowering plant that belongs to the Rubiaceae family. It is is the most widely cultivated species of coffee and is highly valued for its superior flavor and aroma. Coffee Arabica is native to the highlands of Ethiopia but is now grown in various regions around the world.
Coffee Arabica is an evergreen shrub or small tree that can reach heights of 30 to 40 feet (9 to 12 meters) when grown in its natural habitat. It has glossy, dark green leaves and produces clusters of fragrant white flowers. The fruit of the Coffee Arabica plant is known as a “coffee cherry” and contains two seeds, which are commonly referred to as coffee beans.
