A Chaya plant, also known as Cnidoscolus aconitifolius, is a robust and perennial shrub that can reach height of 6 to 8 feet (1.8 to 2.4 meters). It has large, deeply lobed leaves that resemble the shape of a hand with elongated fingers. The leaves are bright green and can grown up to 6 inches (15 centimeters) long. Chaya plants have a dense and bushy growth habit with multiple stems branching out from the base.

The plant has a tropical origin and thrives in warm climates, particularly in regions with mild winters. It is known for its resilience and ability to tolerate a wide range of soil conditions. Chaya plants also exhibit excellent drought tolerance, making them suitable for arid environments.
